Studies for oil paintings, sketches
Abandoned city, forgotten past is becoming an oil painting, ( 50 X 70 cm). I have laid the foundation with light broken colors, now I´ve applied denser colors and feeling my way toward beauty.
Chirio was a great inspiration to many artists, with his cityscapes. I´ll try to get a mystic atmosphere in my own way.
Moving on!
I thought about making texture. Details, but not too much. This image will be like a dream memory.
I´m going to make the background more misty, trying to get interesting colors in the making. I think I want the foreground clear, maybe with a ray of the sun falling in.
Ideas for aquarels, sketches
This is a small aquarel, A5 format. If I like it when finished, I´ll make a bigger oil painting.
I have thought about the title and content, “The power of written words”, now I´ll have to find the colors and the atmosphere. I´ve used color pencils to suggest the lights, and are beginning to fill in with watercolors.
The fourth is the finished version. You are always kind of blinded after working, one needs time to evaluate. I think I should make things clearer, reshape her blouse. Is her head too big? I like her expression though, it is as I wanted.
The colors could maybe be more quiet in the background, not so much green in the books.
But, it has some qualities. I´ll think about it.
