I´ll paint “The Writer” as a study, 30X40 cm on wood. It began as an aquarel. This time, I´ll make a ground of two complimentary colors, use mainly those colors plus white and umber and focus on light: blue daylight from the left and orange lamplight from the right.

All the things I´m dissatisfied with in the aquarel, I´ll try to work through in the oil painting. The placing of the table, the size of her head.

The movement in the curtains soften the lineup and points to the hand and the papers.

The mood of the painting: satisfaction, discovery, daydream, what you feel when you read a good book. The joy of creating.
