This morning had beautiful clouds and a bleak rosy winter sun. I made breakfast with fruits and coffee, read a chapter in a crime book from the early 90´s, had a talk with my husband about the latest picture he is working on. I´m happy.
What to do today? I can choose between a story and painting! The story: working with a trope about a hotel in the mountains, a snowstorm and a stranded bus on the way home for christmas. The passengers are diverse, Felina the cat is one of them, and two are constantly quarreling.
The painting: I´ve always loved Bob Dylan since I heard his songs on the radio. I found a photo of him as young. These paintings are lighthearted fun to make. And I´ll listen to his voice singing about a cup of coffee before I go, into the valley below. ^_^
Not finished, but getting there
Another small oil painting (15 X 21 cm) on pinewood plate, this time of Agatha Christie as a young woman, after the famous photo of her. The village is added by me. I have all her crime books, and read them often. I wish she could have written many more stories.
I looked up an author in Norway, André Bjerke. The first thing I knew about him, was when I were 5-7 years old and got an ABC book with his poems. I can still recite many of them by heart. He loved to play chess, and the photos of him showed him smoking cigarettes. He translated Shakespeare. I read his crime and mystery novels. He was married four times.
